XRF Testing
Virtually any solid or liquid material can be analyzed if sufficient standards are available. For rocks and minerals, typical commercial instruments require a sample of at least a few grams of material, although the sample can be taken much more. The XRF chemical analysis of rocks, samples are several times larger than the largest grain or particle size in the rocks. This first sample then undergoes a series of measures aimed at crushing an average particle size of a few millimeters to a centimeter, if they can be reduced by splitting a small representative sample of several tens to hundreds of grams cut. This small sample is then divided into a fine powder through a series of techniques the floor to the XRF sample. It should especially be taken for this step in order to be aware of the composition of the crushing performance, which inevitably contaminate the sample to some extent.
